MSDS（Material Safety Data Sheet）， Also known as SDS (Safety Data Sheet), it is a technical document used by chemical production, import, and sales enterprises to clarify the physical hazards of chemicals (such as flammability, etc.) and their health (such as toxicity, corrosion, carcinogenicity, etc.) and environmental hazards. It provides sixteen contents including the hazardous characteristics of chemicals, fire first aid, safe storage, and leakage disposal. The terms MSDS and SDS are commonly used internationally, and different countries and regions may use different terms. Their roles in the supply chain are completely consistent. GHS mentions that a unified hazard disclosure system includes appropriate labeling tools to convey information about each hazard category and category under the globally unified system. Hazard disclosure labels are a set of corresponding written, printed, or graphic information elements about hazardous chemicals, including signal words, pictograms, hazard statements, precautionary measures, product identifiers, supplier identification, etc. The labels are fixed, printed, or attached to the direct containers or outer packaging of hazardous chemicals to effectively convey their known hazard information to personnel involved in various stages of the chemical lifecycle in a timely manner.

According to the Announcement of the General Administration of Customs on Relevant Issues Concerning the Inspection and Supervision of Import and Export Hazardous Chemicals and Their Packaging (Announcement No. 129 of 2020), when handling the import and export of chemicals, it is necessary to inspect the chemicals listed in the hazardous chemical catalog, clarify the hazardous types of the chemicals, and provide materials such as the "Classification and Identification Report of Hazardous Characteristics". 

The "Classification and Identification Report of Hazardous Characteristics" is divided into two types, namely the "Classification and Identification Report of Hazardous Characteristics" (TDG classification) and the "Classification and Identification Report of Hazardous Characteristics" (TDG+GHS classification).
